Pavanathadi Fair 2025: A Platform for Women Entrepreneurs in Sangvi
Sangvi, 20th February 2025: The much-awaited Pavanathadi Fair will take place from 21st to 24th February at the PWD Ground in Sangvi. Organized annually by the Social Development Department of the Municipal Corporation, the fair serves as a major platform for women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in the city. This year, 750 SHGs will participate, showcasing and selling a variety of handmade goods and food products.
The primary objective of the fair is to support and promote women entrepreneurs by providing a marketplace for their products, fostering business acumen, and empowering them financially. Like previous years, the event is expected to draw a large number of visitors from across the city.
750 Stalls Offering a Variety of Goods and Food
The fair will feature 750 stalls offering a diverse range of household items, daily essentials, and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food products. In addition, cultural programs will be organized to entertain visitors. Stalls will also provide information on various government schemes, including Smart City, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
₹1.3 Crore Budget for Infrastructure and Facilities
An estimated budget of ₹1.3 crore has been allocated for the fair, covering expenses such as stall setup, pavilions, toilets, drinking water facilities, electricity, sanitation, and other essential services.
Special Provisions for Disabled and Transgender Entrepreneurs
This year, stalls have been allotted to SHGs through a lucky draw. Notably, special reservations have been made for disabled and transgender entrepreneurs, ensuring inclusivity, said Assistant Commissioner Tanaji Narle.
The Pavanathadi Fair 2025 promises to be a vibrant event for residents of Sangvi and neighboring areas, offering a unique opportunity to shop, explore, and indulge in delicious food over four days.
