Pune: Kalewadi Woman Dies by Suicide, Sister Files Complaint Against Seven

Kalewadi, 3rd April 2025: Seven individuals, including the husband and in-laws of a married woman, have been charged in connection with her suicide after alleged harassment. The incident occurred between 21st May 2016 and 30th March 2025 at the victim’s residence in Vijay Nagar, Kalewadi.

According to the police, the woman was subjected to physical and mental abuse by her husband, Ron Pandit Kedar; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pandit Arjun Kedar; her sister-in-law; her brother-in-law, Rahul Pandit Kedar; Ramdas Dagdu Salve; and another woman. Unable to bear the harassment, she reportedly ended her life by hanging herself from a rope tied to her son’s swing at her home.

The case was filed at Kalewadi Police Station by the victim’s 34-year-old sister, who resides in Shivajinagar, Pune. She alleged that the accused conspired together to inflict cruel treatment on her sister during her stay at her marital home. As she refused to live with her husband, they continued to harass her, ultimately leading to her suicide. The police have registered charges against all seven individuals following the complaint. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
