Pune-Based Aviation Institute Develops India’s First Indigenous Airbus A320 Flight Simulator
Baner, 8th April 2025: In a landmark development for Indian aviation training, Pune’s Yoskies Aviation Institute has successfully developed an indigenous Airbus A320 flight simulator, offering aspiring pilots a state-of-the-art facility for flight training. The simulator not only provides a highly realistic flying experience but is also significantly more cost-effective than its imported counterparts.
The simulator was officially inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol. The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including Squadron Leader (Retd.) Ajay Paranjape, Founder Director of Yoskies Aviation Institute; Captain Trupti Karnavat, Director; Vijay Bhandari, President of JITO Apex; Rajendra Jain and Krishnakumar Goyal, Directors of JITO Apex; Pravin Badhekar, Chairman of Badhekar Group; industrialist Rajendra Mutha; Motilal Sankla, President of Chakan Industries; Dr. Ravi Chitnis, Chancellor of MIT University; and Umesh Joshi, Director of JW.
Minister Mohol was given a detailed briefing on the simulator and even took a trial run, experiencing firsthand the near-authentic feel of piloting an Airbus A320.

Speaking on the occasion, Paranjape emphasized the simulator’s indigenous design, which has brought down production costs by almost 75% compared to imported models. “This makes flight simulation training accessible to the general public at a much more affordable rate,” he noted. The simulator was designed and built entirely by students of an engineering program, under the development guidance of Yoskies.
Captain Karnavat highlighted the importance of hands-on experience in pilot training. “This simulator allows trainee pilots to gain in-depth technical exposure. Over the past three years, two types of simulators have been developed in phases. Until now, India relied on imported simulators. This marks the first time an indigenously built simulator has been introduced in the country,” she said.
