Pimpri Chinchwad: Massive Fire Destroys Timber Godown in Moshi; Cause Under Investigation
Pune, 9th April 2025: A massive fire engulfed a timber godown in Moshi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, around 1 AM on Tuesday, reducing the premises to ashes. The blaze spread rapidly due to the presence of highly flammable timber and scrap materials stored inside. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Twelve fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot and worked through the night to bring the fire under control. While the flames were doused after several hours of intense effort, cooling operations continued for over ten hours. As a precaution, two fire engines remain stationed at the site to prevent any possibility of reignition.
Initial estimates suggest losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees, though an official assessment from the fire department is still awaited. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
