Indian Value System will be important for sustainable leadership in the era of AI – Dr Preeti Joshi

Pune, 10th April 2025: In the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the traditional Indian Knowledge System, ethics and the traditional cultural values will prove to be crucial for sustainable leadership, said Dr. Preeti Joshi, an expert in Liberal Arts education from Pune and the Principal of the School of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Sri Balaji University, Pune. She was speaking as a Chief Guest at the inaugural session of the two days international seminar on ‘AI, Leadership and Ethics’ recently held at the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Mukund Nagar Campus.

Dr. Geetali Tilak, Vice-Chancellor of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Dr. Pranati Tilak, Head of the Department of Management Education and Dr. Manisha Shedge, Assistant Professor of the Management Department was present on the dais on the occasion.

Dr. Preeti Joshi emphasized that in the AI era, the Indian Knowledge System and ethics will be crucial for sustainable leadership. She highlighted the need for human-centric innovations that align with environmental, social and ethical responsibilities, making leaders more empathetic, sustainable, and culturally rich.

She stated that AI and ethics will serve as a blueprint for the near future, with AI acting as a tool and ethics as the guide, complementing future leadership. Training AI to uphold ethics will be crucial. According to her, leadership is not only about taking bold steps, but is also about taking the right steps at the right time.
