Pimpri-Chinchwad Hit by Heaviest Rainfall of the Season; Power Outages, Traffic Chaos Reported
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 13th June 2025: The city witnessed its heaviest rainfall of the season starting around 6 PM today, throwing life out of gear across several areas. The downpour led to widespread electricity cuts, with residents across multiple localities reporting power outages.
Heavy rain also caused waterlogging in low-lying areas, uprooted several trees, and brought traffic to a standstill during peak hours. Commuters were stranded for hours as key roads in Pimpri, Chinchwad, Nigdi, and Wakad turned into virtual rivers.
Municipal officials and emergency teams have been deployed to clear fallen trees and restore essential services. Citizens are advised to stay indoors unless necessary.
