Palkhi 2025: Traffic Diversions Announced for Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Palkhi Processions in Pune Rural Areas

Pune, 18th June 2025: In view of the annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued official orders regarding major traffic diversions and alternative routes across several rural areas of the district.

Traffic Diversions for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi:
June 22–24: The Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi will halt at Saswad. From 2 am on June 22 to midnight on June 24, all traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will be completely closed. Alternative route: Khadi Machine Chowk–Katraj–Kapurbawdi for Pune to Saswad; and Garade–Khed Shivapur for Saswad to Pune traffic.

June 24–25: The palkhi will halt at Jejuri and Walhe. From 2 am on June 24 to midnight on June 25, traffic between Pune–Saswad–Jejuri–Walhe–Nira and vice versa will be diverted via Zhendevadi–Pargaon Memane–Supa–Morgaon–Nira.

June 26: Palkhi halts at Lonand. From 2 am to 5 pm on June 26, traffic from Pune to Nira will be diverted via Saswad–Jejuri–Morgaon and vice versa.

June 26–28: During its journey from Lonand to Phaltan, traffic from Pune to Phaltan and Lonand will be diverted via Shirwal.

Traffic Diversions for Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi:
June 23: Palkhi halts at Yawat. From 2 am to midnight, Pune to Solapur-bound traffic will be diverted via Wagholi–Kesnand–Rahu–Pargaon–Chouphula, while Solapur to Pune traffic will be diverted via Chouphula–Pargaon–Rahu–Kesnand–Wagholi.

June 24: Palkhi halts at Varvand. From 2 am to midnight, Pune to Solapur traffic will be diverted via Theur Phata–Kesnand–Rahu–Pargaon–Nhavare–Kashti–Daund–Kurkumbh. Solapur to Pune traffic will follow the reverse route.

June 25: Palkhi halts at Undwadi (Baramati Taluka). From 2 am to midnight, traffic from Pune to Solapur will follow the route via Chouphula–Pargaon–Nhavare–Kashti–Daund–Kurkumbh. Additionally, roads from Baramati to Patas and Baramati to Daund will remain closed. Traffic will be rerouted via Bhigwan.

June 26: Palkhi halts in Baramati city. From 2 am to midnight, Baramati–Patas and Baramati–Daund roads will remain closed, with rerouting via Bhigwan.

June 27: Palkhi halts at Sansar. From 2 am to midnight, Junction–Baramati road will remain closed. Traffic from Walchandnagar and Indapur to Baramati will be diverted via Kalsa.

June 28–29: Palkhi halts at Nimgav Ketki. From 2 am on June 28 to midnight on June 29, all types of vehicles from Baramati to Indapur will be diverted via Kalamb–Bavda or Bhigwan. Reverse traffic from Indapur to Baramati will follow the same.

June 29: Palkhi halts at Indapur. From 2 am to midnight, the Nimgav Ketki to Indapur route will remain closed. Traffic will be diverted via Loni Devkar–Kalas–Junction or Loni Devkar–Bhigwan.

June 30: From 4 am to 8 pm, traffic from Akluj to Baramati will be diverted via Akluj–Bavda–Natepute–Baramati. For vehicles heading to Pune, the Indapur highway must be used. The old Pune–Solapur road in Indapur city will remain closed, and traffic will be diverted via Maloji Raje Chowk to Mahatma Phule Chowk.

July 1–3: Palkhi halts at Sarati. From 2 am on July 1 to 12 noon on July 3, traffic on Indapur–Akluj road will be completely closed. Vehicles will be diverted via Indapur–Hingangaon–Tembhurni–Ganeshgaon–Malinagar–Akluj or Akluj–Natepute–Walchandnagar–Junction–Bhigwan.

District authorities have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic diversions during the Palkhi period to ensure smooth and safe procession movement. Emergency services and essential transport will be given priority access where necessary.
