Pune/Ahilyanagar, 27th June 2025: Acting on a specific intelligence input from the Army’s Southern Command Military Intelligence Unit in Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), a joint operation with MIDC Police Station led to the arrest of three Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing and working in the area using forged Indian identification documents.

The operation was conducted at a construction site — Mouli Crusher in Pokhardi — where the trio was employed as labourers. During the raid, all three were found in possession of fake Aadhaar and PAN cards and had been living in Ahilyanagar for the past two years under false identities.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Jhangir Alam Patwari (34)
Mohd Hanif (40)
Mosharaf Sheikh (40)

All are originally from Chittagong, Bangladesh, and were allegedly staying and working in India without valid documentation.
According to officials, the accused are being interrogated further. Authorities suspect that several more illegal immigrants may be residing in various parts of Ahilyanagar and across Maharashtra. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the larger network.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge, Additional SP Prashant Khaire, and SDPO Amol Bharti. The on-ground police team comprised API Manik Chaudhary, PSI Manoj Mondhe, ASI Rakesh Khedkar, and policemen Raju Sudrik, Kishor Jadhav, Suraj Deshmukh, Jaishing Shinde, Sherkar, Dahiphale, and Rahul Gundu.
