Deadly Road Accident on Pune-Ahmednagar Highway Involving BJP MLA’s Son

Parner, 8th July 2025: A late-night road accident on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway near Supa village in Parner taluka left one man dead after a speeding four-wheeler allegedly rammed into a two-wheeler. The vehicle involved reportedly belongs to Sagar Dhas, son of BJP MLA from Ashti constituency, Suresh Dhas. Sagar Dhas was present in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

According to police, the incident occurred around 11 PM on Friday near the Jategaon Ghat junction. The deceased, identified as Nitin Shelke (34), a resident of Palwe Khurd in Parner, was riding his motorcycle towards Parner when a speeding car struck him from behind. The collision was so severe that Shelke sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Supa police confirmed that Sagar Dhas, along with Sachin Dadasaheb Kokane (a resident of Tavale Wadi, Ashti), was in the car at the time of the crash. Police reached the spot promptly after receiving information about the incident.

Both Sagar Dhas and Sachin Kokane were taken into custody along with the vehicle. Their medical examination has been conducted, and a case has been registered at the Supa Police Station.
