Pune, 6th November 2026: The valour of Baji Prabhu Deshpande and the historic events surrounding the siege of Panhala Fort will be brought to life through a unique light and sound show in Pune. Jointly organised by the Ramanbaug Yuva Manch Dhol-Tasha Pathak and ‘Goshta Ithe Sampat Nahi’, the show, titled ‘Samarbhumi – Fort Panhala’, will recreate the historic fort at New English School, Ramanbaug.

The show will be inaugurated by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray on November 9 at 10 am. Pune residents will be able to experience the show free of charge until November 16.

Spanning approximately 20 to 22 minutes, the show will take audiences through the history and significance of Panhala Fort, its important locations and the major events associated with its siege. Using an immersive combination of light, sound and visuals, it will narrate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s escape from the siege laid by Siddi Jauhar, his journey from Panhala to Vishalgad, and the extraordinary courage displayed by Baji Prabhu Deshpande, Shiva Kashid and the Bandal Mavalas.

One of the key highlights will be the legendary Battle of Pavankhind, where Baji Prabhu Deshpande and 300 Bandal Mavalas fought valiantly to protect the passage to Vishalgad, making the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Swarajya.

‘Goshta Ithe Sampat Nahi’ works towards bringing significant historical events closer to history enthusiasts through storytelling. The organisation has joined hands with Ramanbaug Yuva Manch Dhol-Tasha Pathak to present this historical narrative in an engaging and immersive format.

Details of the initiative were shared by Shantisagar Nipunge, president of Ramanbaug Yuva Manch, along with Sarang Mandke and Sarang Bhoirkar of ‘Goshta Ithe Sampat Nahi’.
‘Samarbhumi – Fort Panhala’ aims to offer Pune residents an engaging experience combining history, valour and technology.
