Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Arrest Four in Rs 25.32 Lakh Jewellery Burglary Case

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 15th July 2025: Four criminals on record involved in the burglary of gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 25.32 lakh have been arrested by the Crime Branch Unit 5 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police. The action follows a week after a case was registered at Shirgaon Police Station.

The arrested accused have been identified as Yashodas Rathod (27) and Ritesh Rathod (27), both residents of Maval taluka, along with Akash Mainawat (29) and Rutik Maniwat (21), residents of Mulshi taluka. Their accomplice, Abhishek Nanawat from Paud, is currently on the run.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr. Shivaji Pawar stated that a parallel investigation was initiated by Unit 5, led by Senior Police Inspector Santosh Kasbe. CCTV footage from the scene helped identify a Maruti Suzuki Alto car with registration number MH 12 CD 2165 as suspicious.

Using this clue, the police tracked and arrested the four accused. During questioning, they confessed to the crime. Authorities have seized the Alto car used during the burglary, along with stolen jewellery, with a total value of Rs 27.12 lakh.

Assistant Police Inspector Shridhar Bhosale is investigating the matter further. Efforts are ongoing to nab the fifth accused.

Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar said, “In the Shirgaon burglary, 36.5 tolas of gold and 1 kg of silver were stolen. The fifth accused is absconding. Once he is caught, we expect 100% recovery. Some of the accused are also related to each other.”
