Video: Disguised as Delivery Boys, Armed Men Rob Ghaziabad Jeweller in Broad Daylight; CCTV Footage Emerges
Ghaziabad, 25th July 2025: Two armed miscreants carried out a daring daylight robbery at Mansi Jewellers in the Brij Vihar area under Link Road Police Station limits on Thursday. The culprits, wearing helmets and posing as delivery boys, looted silver and gold worth lakhs before escaping on a motorcycle.
The audacious act has sparked panic among local traders and residents, especially as the robbery took place despite the presence of a nearby police post.
Helmets On, Guns Out: Robbers Strike in Minutes
According to shop owner Krishna Kumar Verma, the robbers stormed into the jewellery store in the afternoon when he was attending to his regular business. One of the robbers pointed a gun at Verma and his staff while the other thrashed a shop attendant. The duo then swiftly emptied the display and storage, looting approximately 22 kg of silver, 125 grams of gold, and ₹20,000 in cash.
The entire crime was captured on the store’s CCTV cameras, which the police have seized for investigation.
Senior Police Officials on Scene, Probe Launched
Soon after the incident, Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Gaud, along with DCP Trans Hindon Nimish Patil and other senior officers, arrived at the scene to take stock of the situation. Police have registered an FIR based on the complaint filed by Verma and have formed four dedicated teams to track down the suspects.
Initial investigation reveals that the robbery was meticulously planned. The criminals reportedly conducted a recce of the shop and disguised themselves as delivery personnel to avoid suspicion.
CCTV Footage Under Scrutiny
Police are now scanning CCTV footage from multiple locations across the city in hopes of tracing the escape route. Despite the swift police response, the robbers remain unidentified and at large as of the time of filing this report.
City’s Security Apparatus in Question
The robbery comes just days after the conclusion of the Kanwar Yatra, a time when security across Ghaziabad had been visibly heightened. The fact that such a brazen crime could be committed immediately afterward has led to criticism of the city’s policing and surveillance systems.
Police Commissioner Gaud assured the media that strict action would be taken. “We are working with multiple teams. All resources are being mobilized to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest,” he said.
