Pune: Hutchings School’s Aura Ankur Kulin Wins ISB Spelling Bee International 2024–25
Camp, 4th August 2025: The global spotlight once again shone brightly on young linguistic talents as the ISB Spelling Bee International 2024–2025 Grand Finale concluded on June 21, 2025. Continuing its tradition of excellence, the virtual event brought together elite spellers from over 25 countries including the United States, England, UAE, and Singapore, reaffirming the competition’s global reach and reputation.
The championship followed its distinguished multi-tiered format: preliminary qualifiers from each country and region advanced to their respective 2nd Level finales, and the top scorers from these regional contests earned a coveted place in the International Grand Finale. Each round tested not only spelling accuracy but also depth of vocabulary and linguistic intuition.
At the pinnacle of this year’s championship stood 9-year-old Aura Ankur Kulin, a student of Hutchings High School, Pune, who emerged as the ISB Spelling Bee International Champion 2024–2025. Aura’s victory is particularly significant—not just as a triumph of talent, but as the culmination of a remarkable journey.
Having finished as the Runner-Up for two consecutive years and holding the title of ISB National Champion for the past three years, Aura’s ascent to the top has been one of consistency, perseverance, and extraordinary dedication. Her win this year cements her reputation as one of the most accomplished young spellers in the history of the competition.
