Hinjawadi, 4th August 2025: A Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee, identified as Saurabh More, has been living on the footpath outside the company’s Sahyadri Park office in Hinjawadi, Pune, since 29th July, in protest over non-payment of his pending salary.

More’s situation came to public attention after a photo showing him sleeping on the footpath with a handwritten letter beside him went viral on social media. In his letter, More explained that despite reporting back to work, his employee ID remained inactive on the company’s systems, and he had not received his salary, which had been confirmed in a meeting on 30th July. The letter also states that he had informed HR about his financial distress, warning he would be forced to live on the footpath if unpaid, but received no response, prompting his protest.

The Forum For IT Employees (FITE) expressed solidarity with More, applauding his courage to highlight salary delays and urged affected employees to combine protests with legal complaints under Indian labor laws to ensure accountability.

While the incident has sparked widespread online discussion about employee rights and corporate accountability, media reports suggest that a TCS spokesperson stated the employee’s payroll was suspended due to an unauthorized absence. However, he has since reported back and requested reinstatement. The company has provided accommodation and is working to resolve the matter fairly and constructively.
