Pune: Mock Terror Attack Drill Conducted at Hinjawadi IT Park

Hinjawadi, 6th August 2025: Residents and employees at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi were caught off guard this evening when helicopters began hovering overhead and sirens blared, prompting panic across the area.

The incident took place around 5 PM, when people initially feared a real emergency. Eyewitnesses told Punekar News that the sudden appearance of helicopters and loud sirens led many to believe it was a life-threatening situation. However, authorities soon clarified that it was part of a mock drill.

Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and National Security Guard (NSG) were reportedly involved in the exercise. While officials have not yet disclosed who initiated the drill or the exact reason behind it, sources suggest it was a preparedness measure considering the high concentration of companies in the area.

Hinjawadi Police confirmed that the activity was indeed a mock drill but declined to share further details.
