Review Meeting Held for Ongoing Work Under District Disaster Management Authority

Pune, 8th August 2025: A review meeting was held at the Pune District Collector’s office to assess the ongoing work under the District Disaster Management Authority across various districts in Maharashtra. Officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), New Delhi, including Joint Advisor Naval Prakash, Senior Advisor Colonel Anu Dayal Mathur, and Joint Advisor Vijay Lokesh Singh, were present for the meeting.

During the session, updates were shared about the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) under Pune Municipal Corporation. Officials informed that the city’s Disaster Management Cell is being upgraded and will become operational next month.

Presentations were made on pre-monsoon disaster risk reduction projects, including one by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

The meeting covered key areas such as Pune district’s disaster management plan, mitigation measures, emergency response strategies, coordination among various departments and districts, and the status and functioning of the District Emergency Operation Center.

Information was also shared on training programs for ‘Apda Mitra’, ‘Apda Sakhi’, and young disaster volunteers. The officials visited the district control room and a youth training center, expressing satisfaction with the progress made.
