Pune: CCTV Captures Four Masked Thieves in Undri, Burglary Reported in Two Housing Societies
Undri, 11th August 2025: Residents of Nyati Ethos and Nyati Evara—twin housing societies located on Undri Hilltop—are on alert after a group of four masked men allegedly broke into two unoccupied flats in the early hours of Monday.
According to the society management, the burglary occurred between 1:50 am and 3:39 am. CCTV footage of Someshwar Society, opposite Nyati Ethos, shows the suspects entering a flat in the Thames building at 1:50 am and leaving at 3:13 am. Two of the intruders then entered another flat in the Mississippi building at 3:13 am, exiting 26 minutes later.
Both flats were unoccupied at the time. From Flat Mississippi 1203, the burglars allegedly took ₹15,000 in cash. No other valuables were reported missing from either flat. There were no confrontations with residents during the incident.
Investigators believe the suspects gained entry through an unsecured area behind the Mississippi building near a cricket ground. Police sources said the intruders appeared aware of the society’s CCTV blind spots and the positioning of security guards.
A resident near the Mississippi building reportedly noticed unusual movement but did not alert security or police at the time. Authorities have indicated that the same group may have been active in the area for the past one to two months, targeting unoccupied flats.
The societies—comprising 317 flats in Nyati Ethos and over 330 flats in Nyati Evara—do not have a public access road. Residents currently use an internal road belonging to Someshwar Society, which, along with inadequate street lighting and limited CCTV coverage, is being cited as a security concern.
