Pune: Citizens Gain Easier Access to Legal Services with New Maha e-Seva Kendra at Shivajinagar Court
Shivajinagar, 13th August 2025: The Shivajinagar court complex in Pune has launched a Maha e-Seva Kendra to simplify citizens’ access to legal information, case updates, and other judiciary-related services. The facility, inaugurated on Tuesday, is part of the national e-Court India project and will be operated under the Pune District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
During the inaugural ceremony, Pune Principal District and Sessions Judge Mahendra K. Mahajan described technology as “a vital pillar of the judiciary” and said the new centre would enhance transparency, reduce delays, and make judicial processes more accessible. “This initiative will serve as a bridge between the public, legal professionals, and the court system,” Mahajan noted.
Additional Sessions Judge S. S. Kanthale, who heads the court’s computer department, highlighted that the centre will assist litigants, lawyers, and court staff with services such as case status updates, e-filing of documents, access to judgments, video conferencing, and virtual court visits. Guidance on using the eCourts Services mobile app will also be provided at the centre. The app can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Officials believe the centre will streamline the flow of information between the judiciary and the public, ultimately contributing to faster and more efficient justice delivery.
