High Court-Appointed Water Committee to Hold Crucial Meeting on Pune’s Supply Issues
Pune, 13th August 2025: The committee formed under the directions of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court in Public Interest Litigation (PIL) No. 126 of 2023 will hold its bi-monthly meeting on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Vidhan Bhavan, Pune. The meeting will be chaired by the Hon’ble Divisional Commissioner and is expected to address pressing concerns over municipal water supply to residential areas.
According to an official communication issued by Advocate Satya Muley, members and representatives have been formally invited to attend the meeting at 11:00 a.m. in the Video Conference Hall of Vidhan Bhavan. Participants have been requested to bring written grievances regarding the water supply provided by the municipal corporation to housing societies, apartment complexes, and other residential establishments in their respective regions.
This forum is intended to serve as a direct platform for citizens’ representatives to present on-the-ground issues before the committee. The grievances will be recorded and reviewed for further action in line with the High Court’s mandate. The committee, functioning under judicial oversight, has been tasked with identifying gaps in municipal water distribution and recommending corrective measures.
The upcoming session also includes reference communications from both the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Additional Divisional Commissioner’s office, indicating the coordinated approach between civic and administrative authorities in addressing water supply challenges.
The meeting is part of a continuing process where citizen feedback is not only heard but also forms the basis of targeted action plans to ensure equitable water distribution across Pune’s urban and suburban regions.
