Daund, 21st August 2025: The Pune unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught a female employee of the Deputy Superintendent’s office of the Land Records Department and a private individual accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The action took place at the Deputy Superintendent’s office in Nagar Mori Chowk, Daund, after a farmer approached the ACB following repeated harassment in obtaining a crucial land document. The farmer had applied, as per a court order, for the ‘C’ copy of the survey map and its table after the survey of his land was completed. This document is essential for determining land ownership and boundaries.

According to the ACB, Vaishali Chandrakant Dhasakte (49), working as a conservation surveyor, repeatedly obstructed the farmer’s request. Reports indicate that she initially demanded Rs 14,000 from the farmer. Following negotiations, Dhasakte allegedly agreed to provide the copy for Rs 10,000.

The farmer, frustrated by the delay and harassment, contacted the ACB in Pune. A trap was subsequently laid, leading to the detention of Dhasakte and Fayyaz Dawood Sheikh (27), a private agent working in the Deputy Superintendent’s office. Both individuals are residents of Daund.

A case has been registered against Dhasakte and Sheikh at Daund Police Station.
