First Direct Beed-Pune Train to Be Flagged Off on September 17

Pune/Beed, 16 September 2026: The first direct train service between Beed and Pune is set to be inaugurated on September 17, marking the commencement of rail connectivity between the Marathwada district and Pune.

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sunetra Pawar, Member of Parliament Bajrang Sonavane, Member of Legislative Assembly Sandeep Kshirsagar and other dignitaries will flag off the Beed-Pune Inaugural Special train from Beed Railway Station.

The inaugural special, numbered 01401, will operate from Beed to Pune and halt at Amalner Bhandyache, New Ashti, Narayandoho, Ahilyanagar, Shrigonda Road, Daund Chord Line and Uruli.

The train will comprise two AC 2-Tier coaches, three AC 3-Tier coaches, four Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches, one Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Van and one Generator Van.

Central Railway has stated that the regular Pune-Beed-Pune Daily Express (11434/11433) will commence shortly. The detailed schedule and stoppages for the regular service will be notified separately.

The new service follows the commissioning of the Ahilyanagar-Beed section of the Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Line Project.

Direct rail link between Beed and Pune

The introduction of the service provides Beed with its first direct rail connectivity to Pune. The connection is expected to serve passengers travelling between the two regions for education, employment, business, healthcare and pilgrimage-related purposes.

Beed, located in Maharashtra’s Marathwada region, is predominantly agrarian and has several religious and cultural landmarks, including the historic Kankaleshwar Temple. The district is also located near pilgrimage centres such as Parli Vaijnath and Ambajogai.

Pune is a major educational, industrial and information technology centre and serves as an important railway junction for travel between Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and other parts of the country.

The new rail connection will provide passengers from Beed and surrounding areas with an additional mode of transport to Pune and is also expected to facilitate the movement of traders, students, patients, pilgrims and agricultural producers between the two regions.

The regular daily operation of the Pune-Beed-Pune Express will follow the inaugural special service, with the operating timings and detailed stoppages to be announced separately.
