Pune: MSEDCL Officials Engage with Baner-Balewadi Residents in First “Citizens Connect” Programme
Balewadi, 26th August 2025: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Balewadi Welfare Federation (BWF) hosted the “MSEDCL-Citizens Connect” programme at Elite Empire Society, Baner, bringing together MSEDCL officials and local residents to discuss power-related concerns.
Nitin Thite, Executive Engineer, along with Umesh Karpe, Additional Executive Engineer, and Somnath Pathade, Assistant Engineer, Baner Office, interacted with over 70 participants from various societies in the Baner-Balewadi area.
The officials addressed citizen queries on Smart Meter installations, electricity disruptions, voltage fluctuations, complaint resolution via online platforms, and the maintenance of electrical infrastructure. Thite noted that many power interruptions are caused by local factors such as ongoing metro work and road digging. He advised residents to use protective devices like ELCB and RCB to safeguard their appliances and instructed MSEDCL teams to ensure timely transformer maintenance to prevent recurring issues.
Karpe shared multiple helpline numbers, including emergency contacts, and recommended residents use messaging for faster response times. Pathade addressed local issues raised during the meet and assured prompt resolution.
The programme was spearheaded by BWF members Yash Choudhary, Ashish Kotamkar, Moreshwar Balwadkar, Dafedar Singh, and Ramesh Rokade, with key efforts from Aditi Pais, Vikas Kamat, Shakil Salati, and Sachin Patil, ensuring smooth execution of the event.
The interaction aimed to strengthen communication between MSEDCL and residents, highlighting the benefits of Smart Meters and MSEDCL’s commitment to improving the electricity supply and infrastructure in Baner-Balewadi.
