Pune, 1st September 2025: Pune city and its suburbs experienced light rain and drizzles throughout Sunday, following a partly sunny morning. Cloudy weather persisted for most of the day, prompting residents to enjoy a mild chill while carrying umbrellas for precaution.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy weather with heavy rain is expected over the Ghats for the next two days. Travelers heading to hilly areas have been advised to exercise caution due to slippery roads and potential water-logging.

Although Pune had witnessed heavy rainfall in the previous days, the intensity of precipitation has reduced. On Sunday, rainfall measurements included 1 mm in Magarpatta, 0.5 mm in Hadapsar, and 0.1 mm in Shivajinagar. The Pune Observatory has forecasted cloudy skies with light rain on Monday, along with a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 21.9°C.

Meanwhile, Mumbai and its surrounding areas continue to experience intermittent light to moderate rain, accompanied by cloudy conditions. The IMD has predicted similar weather patterns in the coming days, with sporadic showers expected across the region.

Authorities have cautioned Punekars about potential water logging on city roads due to fluctuating rainfall. Drivers have been urged to navigate with care, while tourists planning trips to the Ghats are advised to check weather updates before embarking on their journey.

With the monsoon gradually tapering yet still active in parts of the region, residents are encouraged to stay alert and prioritize safety while commuting or traveling for leisure.
