Pune’s Arya Naik Wins Gold for Maharashtra at National Taekwondo Championships

Cuttack, 2nd September 2025: Maharashtra’s rising star, Arya Naik from Zeus Taekwondojang Club, brought glory to the state by clinching the Gold Medal in Freestyle Individual Poomsae at the 4th Sub Junior National Taekwondo Championship 2025. The championship was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, from 28 to 31 August 2025.

In a moment of great honour, Arya received the medal from the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang. The national championship is organised by India Taekwondo, the sole governing body of Taekwondo in India, affiliated with World Taekwondo (WT) and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The Association Taekwondo for Pune District (ATPD) congratulated Arya on this remarkable achievement, which brings pride not only to Team Maharashtra but also to the entire Taekwondo community in Pune.

Arya’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance at Zeus Taekwondojang Club shone brightly on the national stage, setting an inspiring example for aspiring athletes across the country.
