Thousands Join Prophet Muhammad’s 1500th Birth Anniversary Procession in Pune

Camp, 8th September 2025: The 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in Pune, along with the rest of the world. Thousands of people participated in the celebrations, organized by the Sirat Committee, while strictly following religious traditions.
The main procession began from Mannushah Masjid in Nana Peth and concluded at City Jama Chowk, Shukrawar Peth. It passed through major city landmarks including Sant Kabir Chowk, Bharat Cinema, Padamji Police Chowki, Central Street, MG Road, and several others. At almost every square, local organizations, political leaders, and social groups welcomed the procession.
Prominent attendees included Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar, DCP Vivek Masal, Maulana Zameeruddin, Maulana Nizamuddin Fakhruddin, Maulana Khalid Nizami, Maulana Ghulam Ahmad Khan, former MLA Mohan Joshi, NCP’s Prashant Jagtap, Dr. Siddharth Dhende, Siraj Bagwan, Javed Shaikh, and other community leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint CP Ranjan Kumar praised the Sirat Committee for its efforts in promoting social harmony. He noted that their decision to hold the procession after Ganesh Visarjan was commendable.
Citizens widely appreciated the fact that the procession was held without DJs. Meanwhile, Sirat Committee representatives Siraj Bagwan and Javed Shaikh announced that several awareness programs will be organized across Pune throughout the year to mark the 1500th anniversary.
