Clear Pending Traffic Fines at Discount in Pune’s Lok Adalat from Sept 10–13

Pune, 9th September 2025: Pune residents will get an opportunity to clear pending fines for minor traffic violations at a maximum discount during the National Lok Adalat scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday.

The initiative will cover common violations such as riding without a helmet, driving without a seat belt, signal jumping, overspeeding, and driving without a number plate. Citizens can settle their dues at concessional rates at the Traffic Branch office near Yerawada Post Office between 10 am and 5 pm from September 10 to 13.

Mahendra Mahajan, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Pune, said, “Citizens will be able to legally clear their outstanding traffic fines easily in the National Lok Adalat. Maximum people should take advantage of this opportunity.”

The drive is being jointly implemented by the Pune District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) and Pune City Traffic Police. JMFC Sonal Patil, Secretary of PDLSA, said, “This initiative will enable citizens to settle traffic violations through compromise at maximum concession and also create awareness about traffic discipline.”

As per the directions of the Bombay High Court, the National Lok Adalat will be held in all courts across Pune on September 13. In line with this, penal e-challans for traffic violations will be settled through compromise under the leadership of Judge Mahajan (Chairman, PDLSA), Secretary Sonal Patil, Motor Vehicle Court Judge S. B. Patil, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, and DCP (Traffic Branch) Himmat Jadhav.

Concessional Fine Payment Will Be Allowed for:
Riding a two-wheeler without a helmet
Driving a four-wheeler without a seat belt
Signal jumping
Overspeeding
Wrong parking
Using a mobile phone while driving
Driving without a license or valid PUC
Not possessing a fitness certificate
Driving in the wrong lane
Not having a number plate
No Concession Will Be Allowed for Serious Violations Such As:
Drunk driving
Hit-and-run cases
Reckless driving causing death
Driving by a minor
Unauthorized racing
Using vehicles for crimes
Cases pending in court
Traffic violations outside Maharashtra
