Gang Stages Accident, Robs Youth of Mobile Phones; Three Arrested in Pune

Sahkaranagar, 11th September 2025: The Sahakarnagar police have arrested three persons, including two minors, for staging an accident and robbing a youth of two mobile phones in the dead of night. Stolen phones worth Rs 25,000 have been recovered from the accused.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional CP Rajesh Bansode and DCP (Zone 2) Milind Mohite.

According to police, the incident took place around 12:30 am on September 6 near Chavannagar Kaman Chowk. The complainant, who was returning home on his two-wheeler, was deliberately hit by another two-wheeler carrying three people coming from Katraj.

When the complainant stopped to check, the accused abused him and assaulted him, claiming, “We have been injured, give us Rs 10,000 for expenses.” They then forcibly snatched two of his mobile phones before fleeing the spot.

A case was registered at Sahakarnagar police station, and during the investigation, police constables Amol Pawar and Amit Padmale received information about the suspects’ hideout near Srihari Hotel, Treasure Park.

Acting on the tip-off received by policemen Amol Pawar and Amit Padmale, the police laid a trap and apprehended Aniket Ganesh Shinde (19), a resident of Shahu Vasahat, Pune, along with two minors.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine whether the gang was involved in similar crimes in the area.

The investigation team included Senior Police Inspector Vitthal Pawar, PI (Crime) Surekha Chavan, PSI Saddam Hussain Fakir, ASI Bapu Khutwad, and police personnel Bajrang pawar, Nilesh Shivtare, Sandeep Kolge, Rafiq Tadwi, Kiran Kamble, Abhiman Baglane, Mahesh Bhagat and Sagar Sutkar.
