Cloudy Skies, Frequent Rainfall Ahead: Pune Weather Forecast September 13–18
Pune, 12th September 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a wet spell for Pune and adjoining areas over the next week, with cloudy skies, rain, and thunderstorms expected on most days.
According to the IMD, very light to light rain is likely in the city on Saturday, 13 September, under generally cloudy conditions. On Sunday, 14 September, a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall is expected, with isolated heavy showers in the ghat regions.
The wet conditions are likely to intensify on Monday, 15 September, with thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rain predicted. The IMD has cautioned of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the ghats.
Similar weather is likely to prevail on Tuesday, 16 September, with thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall forecast across Pune district. The intensity of rain is expected to reduce mid-week, with light showers predicted on Wednesday and Thursday (17–18 September), though skies will remain generally cloudy.
Weather officials have advised residents and commuters to remain alert, especially while travelling through ghat areas where heavy rainfall could lead to waterlogging or landslides. Farmers have also been asked to take necessary precautions to protect standing crops from excess moisture.
