Pune: Lift Crash in Wagholi Housing Complex Leaves Six Injured; Residents Blame Builder

Wagholi, 16th September 2025: Panic gripped residents of a housing society in Wagholi after a lift malfunctioned and crashed on Monday, leaving six people injured. The incident occurred in Urbani Society, where two women, two men, and two children were inside the elevator at the time of the fall.

According to eyewitnesses, the lift had just reached a floor when it suddenly plunged, causing the occupants to suffer minor injuries. They were immediately provided medical aid. CCTV footage of the incident has since gone viral, adding to the alarm among residents.

Following the mishap, society members alleged that the builder failed to maintain proper safety standards. A police complaint has been lodged, and residents have demanded urgent inspections of all lifts in the complex.
