Fatimanagar to B.T. Kawade Road: PMC Reviews Pune Grand Cycle Tour Works
Pune, 6th November 2026: Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Diwate on Friday inspected various locations under Package 4 of the Pune Grand Cycle Tour (PGCT) project and directed the concerned departments and contractors to expedite pending works and ensure quality execution within the stipulated timeline.
The inspection was conducted at 8 am in the presence of Superintending Engineer Rohidas Gavhane, officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) engineering team, representatives of Pavetech Consultants and the contractors involved in the project.
During the inspection, Diwate reviewed the progress of road-related and utility works at several locations and issued specific directions to address pending issues.
At Fatimanagar Junction, he directed the concerned contractor and road department to undertake necessary repairs and improve the road surface level to ensure a smooth and safe ride for motorists.
On B.T. Kawade Road, officials were instructed to prepare a detailed record of utility trenches excavated by the water supply and drainage departments. The concerned departments have been asked to document the locations and current status of these trenches and take the necessary corrective measures.
Diwate also reviewed incomplete footpath works near the railway bridge on B.T. Kawade Road and other stretches covered under the package. He directed the contractors and the road department to identify all unfinished portions and complete the remaining work on priority.
The status of other utility services along the PGCT Package 4 route was also reviewed. The PMC’s road department, concerned utility agencies, contractors and consultants were instructed to coordinate with one another, identify pending works and ensure that utility-related activities do not obstruct road development.
Diwate instructed all concerned agencies to act promptly on the directions issued during the inspection. He emphasised that all works must be completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality, and that negligence would not be tolerated.
The PMC engineering team and Pavetech Consultants have also been directed to maintain regular coordination with the concerned utility departments and monitor the progress of the works. Contractors have been asked to prioritise pending tasks and submit action-taken reports to the concerned officials.
