Pune: High-Speed Bike Accident in Kondhwa Exposes Lack of Road Safety Measures
Reported by Shoaib Tadvi
Kondhwa, 16th September 2025: A serious accident took place near Vivaan Society and Nirmaan Asamant Society in Kondhwa’s Parge Nagar, when a speeding sports bike collided with an Activa scooter. The accident took place on Monday night.
The collision left two children badly injured, with severe fractures in their hands and legs. Eyewitnesses said one child’s leg bone was severely damaged, while the other suffered a broken hand. Both were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Local residents expressed deep concern over the increasing menace of reckless driving in the area. Nazia Sameer Punjabi and Sameer Iqbal Punjabi from the Parge Nagar Kondhwa Residents Association, who were present at the spot, said: “The roads in Parge Nagar are broad, and many youngsters race imported motorcycles here. There are no speed breakers or dividers, and traffic is not regulated properly. Many women feel unsafe as bikes are often driven dangerously close and with loud noises. In this incident, two innocent children suffered serious fractures — one with a broken hand and the other with a broken leg where the bone was exposed. This is a very serious matter.”
The Residents Association has strongly demanded the immediate installation of at least two speed breakers and a road divider on the stretch to prevent reckless driving and ensure the safety of families, children, and senior citizens.
