Pune, 16th September 2025: Continuous rainfall over the past two days has left several areas of Pune waterlogged, causing major inconvenience to citizens. From Tuesday morning until 3 pm, severe waterlogging was reported in parts of Apte Road, Ganeshkhind Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, Gokhale Nagar, and Market Yard, leading to heavy traffic congestion.

According to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Bhavani Peth recorded the highest rainfall at 54.40 mm, followed by Kasba with 49.60 mm and Kothrud with 48.40 mm.

The PMC’s Disaster Management Cell received numerous complaints from Vadgaonsheri, Kondhwa, and Hadapsar about bursting sewer pipes, overflowing rain gutters, and falling tree branches. On Apte Road, a sewer pipe burst, causing dirty water to spread across the road, while water also accumulated near the Rani of Jhansi statue.

PMC teams were dispatched to address the issues and completed all repair and clearance work by evening. “All field offices were alerted, and necessary teams were sent to the spot,” said Disaster Management Officer Ganesh Sonune.
