Manchar, 16th September 2025: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that tenders for the 16-lane elevated highway from Nashik Phata to Rajgurunagar will be opened on Thursday, September 25. He said the land acquisition process has already been expedited at the government level.

“Once the elevated highway is completed, the issue of traffic congestion in Chakan and the surrounding areas will be permanently resolved,” Gadkari assured.

The announcement followed a meeting with Dilip Medge, coordinator of the Pune–Nashik National Highway, who, along with a delegation of villagers from Khed, Ambegaon, and Junnar talukas, apprised Gadkari of the severe traffic congestion and frequent accidents reported at Peth, Tambademale–Manchar, Eklahare–Kalamb (Ambegaon taluka), Narayangaon, and Alephata (Junnar taluka).

Medge urged immediate approval of flyovers or underpasses at accident-prone spots and also requested faster execution of the Narayangaon–Khodad Chowk flyover, which he said is progressing at a slow pace.

Sanjay Kadam, Project Director of the NHAI, stated, “As per the letter given by former Cooperation Minister Dilip Walse Patil, flyovers at Eklahare and Tambademale have already been sanctioned, and the tendering process is underway. The work on the Narayangaon–Khodad Chowk flyover will also be expedited.”

The upcoming project will be a 16-lane corridor—comprising 8 lanes on the ground level and 8 lanes on the elevated stretch. The sanctioned project cost is ₹7,827 crore. For the 30-km stretch, land acquisition is being fast-tracked by the state government.
