Vijay Kumar Appointed as New General Manager of Central Railway

New Delhi, 19th September, 2025: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a major reshuffle in senior positions of the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS), appointing new General Managers across several zones.

According to the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Vijay Kumar, currently serving as General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan, has been appointed as the new General Manager of Central Railway, Mumbai. He will take charge upon the superannuation of the present GM, Dharamveer Meena, on September 30, 2025.

The reshuffle also includes the appointment of Naresh Pal Singh as General Manager, North Central Railway, Prayagraj; Uday Borwankar as General Manager, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur; and Subhransu Sekhar Mishra as General Manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata.

These postings come under the Level 16 cadre of the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) and were cleared by the Ministry of Railways and approved by the ACC.
