Co-Passenger Alleges Negligence as 70-Year-Old Dies on Mumbai- Pune Intercity Express at Karjat

Karjat, 19th September 2025: A 70-year-old passenger travelling on Train No. 12127 Intercity Express died after being found unconscious in Coach D/9 when the train reached Karjat railway station on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh Ramlal Shah, a resident of Tardeo, Mumbai. He was discovered in an unconscious state at around 8:16 am as the train arrived at Platform No. 1. Information was relayed to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP), following which the passenger was shifted to Civil Hospital, Karjat. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead, citing a heart attack as the cause.
A co-passenger alleged negligence in handling the situation, stating that officials were not present when the incident occurred and that no ambulance or doctor was available at the spot.
The case is under investigation by the GRP Karjat.
