Pune: Residents of New Pan Card Road Raise Alarm Over Poor Garbage Management Despite Paying Rs 30,000 Annually
Baner, 20th September 2025: Residents of the Residential Club, led by founder Arvind Girdoniya, have raised serious concerns over poor civic management in the New Pan Card Road area and its adjoining lanes. Despite paying an annual maintenance fee of ₹25,000–30,000, locals complain that basic services such as regular cleaning and garbage collection remain neglected.
According to residents, garbage is often left unattended for days, sanitation workers are provided with inadequate equipment, and unauthorized shopkeepers worsen the situation by dumping waste along the roadside. “We filed complaints last year and again this year, but the problem continues,” Girdoniya said.
The issue has been escalated multiple times, but the response from the area SI has been limited. Officials reportedly cited a shortage of manpower as the reason behind delayed cleaning and waste collection.
Residents argue that despite living in a luxury society and paying hefty maintenance charges, they are forced to contend with poor hygiene and unmanaged waste. The Residential Club has urged civic authorities to deploy additional staff, provide proper equipment to sanitation workers, and take strict action against shopkeepers illegally dumping garbage in public spaces.
Locals have warned that if their demands are ignored again this year, they will escalate the matter to higher municipal authorities for immediate intervention.
