Pune Police Arrest Accused Who Kidnapped 3-Year-Old After Being Dismissed from Job

Viman Nagar, 23rd September 2025: Pune Police have arrested two accused in the kidnapping of a three-year-old girl from MHADA Colony, Viman Nagar, within four hours of the incident. The investigation revealed that the girl was kidnapped after the accused were dismissed from work by her father.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Prince Pal and Om Narayan Pal.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Somay Munde, the girl’s family filed a complaint around 5 pm yesterday, prompting immediate action by the Pune Police. “We quickly deployed our teams across the city. The father suspected Prince Pal and Om Narayan Pal in the kidnapping (as they had been dismissed from their job). Tracking the mobile locations of the accused revealed that they were traveling to Mumbai by train. We alerted the police at all railway stations and dispatched teams in their direction,” DCP Munde said.
The accused were detained at Kalyan Railway Station. During questioning, they admitted that the girl had been kidnapped from a construction site and that they intended to demand ransom from her father. Preliminary investigations also indicate the possible involvement of additional suspects, and inquiries are ongoing.
The action was taken by under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil, DCP (Zone 4) Somay Munde and ACP (Yerwada Division) Pranjali Sonawane.
The team included Senior Police Inspector Govind Jadhav, Police Inspector (Crime) Sharad Shelke, Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Rathod, Police personnel Ankush Jogdande, Lalu Karhe, Rupesh Pisal, Rakesh Chandekar, Shailesh Naik, Sachin Manjre, Dadasaheb Bud, Yogesh Thopte, Shrimant Yampale, Gyandev Awari, Hariprasad Punde and Shankar Waghule.
