Final Ward Structure for Pune Municipal Corporation Elections Announced; 12 Wards Modified, 8 Renamed
Pune, 4th October 2025: The final ward structure for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections has been announced by the State Election Commission on Saturday, following an extensive review of over 5,900 objections and suggestions received from citizens.
According to the final notification, the city will have 41 wards with a total of 165 corporators. Out of the 5,922 objections received on the draft structure, 1,329 were fully accepted, 69 were partially accepted, and 4,524 were rejected. Based on these revisions, 12 wards have undergone structural changes, while the names of 8 wards have been altered in response to public objections.
Key Changes in Ward Composition
The Election Commission stated that several boundary adjustments were made to ensure logical and community-based demarcations.
The Shinde Vasahat area from Ward No. 18 Wanawadi–Salunke Vihar has been merged with Ward No. 14 Koregaon Park–Ghorpadi–Mundhwa, as the settlement was previously split by a road in the draft plan.
The area opposite Magarpatta City Road in Ward No. 14 has now been added to Ward No. 17 Ramtekdi–Malwadi–Vaiduwadi.
Parts of Bibwewadi–Mahesh Society (Ward No. 20), including Punyainagar and K.K. Market, have been shifted to Ward No. 38 Balaji Nagar–Ambegaon–Katraj, which now has five members.
Ward No. 34 Narhe–Vadgaon Budruk–Ambegaon and nearby areas like Kolewadi and Jambhulwadi have also been merged into Ward No. 38.
Due to the expansion of Ward No. 38, the Sukhsagarnagar portion of Balajinagar–Ambegaon–Katraj has been shifted to Ward No. 39 Upper Super–Indiranagar.
The Thite Vasti section of Ward No. 15 Manjari Budruk–Keshavnagar–Sade Satara Nali has now been moved to Ward No. 4 Kharadi–Wagholi, following multiple objections from local residents who attended hearings to demand its exclusion.
