Gautami Patil Responds to Controversy: “Minister Chandrakant Patil Might Not Be Aware of the Full Matter”
Pune, 8th October 2025: Dancer Gautami Patil on Wednesday clarified her stance on the recent accident near Navale Bridge, saying she had no involvement in the incident and was being unfairly targeted online.
“I was not in that car when the accident occurred. My car was with the driver. Even though I have no connection with the accident, I am being deliberately blamed. Until now, I was trolled for various reasons, and now the same is happening in this case too. People are saying whatever they want, trying to defame me,” Gautami said while speaking to reporters in Pune.
Following the accident, she has been subjected to widespread trolling on social media. Addressing the controversy, she said, “At the time of the accident, I was not in the car. The incident happened around 5 a.m., and I came to know about it only by noon. Immediately after that, I extended help to the victims’ families. Through my brothers, I sent financial aid to the family of the auto driver involved in the accident. However, they refused to accept it.”
Patil added that the matter is under legal investigation and that she has been cooperating fully with the police. “I am prepared to face everything through proper legal procedures. I have submitted all documents related to the car, the driver’s details, and my own whereabouts at the time of the accident. I am following every step as per the law,” she said.
Did Not Personally Visit Victims’ Families
Patil admitted she did not personally meet the victims’ families, citing prior professional commitments. “It is true that I did not visit them personally. I had ongoing stage programs, and the organizers had invested heavily, so I couldn’t cancel my shows. Still, I sent my brothers to convey condolences on my behalf. They told me they were treated very coldly there. After such a response, how could I have gone there myself?” she said.
Driver Responsible for the Incident
“The driver told me he was taking the car for temple darshan, and I had permitted him. After that, I lost contact with him. The accident happened due to his mistake. Once he took the car, the responsibility was his. I am no longer in touch with him now,” Patil explained.
“Minister Chandrakant Patil Might Not Be Fully Aware”
Referring to reports that Minister Chandrakant Patil asked police officials, “When will Gautami be arrested?”, she said, “Perhaps Chandrakant Dada was not fully aware of the incident when he made that statement. Later, the police explained the entire matter to him. I am thankful to the police administration for clarifying the situation.”
