Deccan, 8th October 2025: The Pune Traffic Police has announced that vehicular movement on Bhide Bridge will resume from October 11, 2025, to ensure smooth traffic flow during the upcoming Diwali festival.

The bridge had been closed earlier to facilitate the construction of a pedestrian cable bridge connecting to the Deccan Metro Station, as part of ongoing development works by Maha-Metro. However, with festive crowds expected to surge in central Pune, authorities have decided to reopen the bridge temporarily to ease congestion.

According to an order issued by Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, traffic on Bhide Bridge will be permitted daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. until further notice. The move aims to ensure smooth and safe vehicular movement within the Vishrambaug and Deccan Traffic Division limits.

Residents and commuters have been advised to follow traffic rules, cooperate with on-duty police personnel, and plan their travel routes in advance to avoid delays during the festive season.
