Reported by Mubarak Ansari
Khadakwasla, 10th October 2025: A first-term cadet of the National Defence Academy (NDA), attached to Charlie (C) Squadron, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Pune. Authorities said that the cadet was discovered hanging, suggesting prima facie death by suicide, though the exact cause will be confirmed after the autopsy report.
The deceased cadet has been identified as Antriksh Kumar Singh (18) from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He had completed school education from Army Public School. His father is an ex-Army man.
Antriksh had cleared SSB in first attempt and had joined the 154th course at NDA in July this year.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam told Punekar News, “Suicide is reported at NDA but no any confirmation of ragging so far…investigation is underway and waiting relatives to reach here. We received information this morning. Our team is investigating the case.”
The cadet’s family has alleged that ragging may have played a role in the incident, raising concerns over the safety and well-being of trainees at the academy.
The Pune city police’s Uttamnagar police station is investigating the matter.
NDA is yet to issue an official statement.
