Pune: Construction Halted for Three Builders Violating Civic Norms in Wagholi
Pune,9th October 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has ordered a halt to the construction of three housing projects in Wagholi after developers failed to provide basic civic amenities to residents as promised.
The action was initiated under the direction of Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Metropolitan Commissioner of PMRDA, following multiple complaints from residents about the absence of underground drainage and sewage systems in their housing societies.
During inspections, Dr. Mhase found that developers had utilized the societies’ Floor Space Index (FSI) to obtain project permissions but had not fulfilled their obligation to provide essential infrastructure. Despite prior instructions to rectify the deficiencies, the developers failed to take corrective action.
As a result, Amco Developers, Krishna Developers, and Belvalkar Housing have been directed to immediately stop all ongoing construction work until further notice.
Dr. Mhase stated that no further permissions would be granted until the developers address the pending civic issues. He also instructed that group housing projects will be issued occupancy certificates only after obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for drinking water and sewage connections.
