Pune: 60 Unauthorized Shops and Sheds Removed in Aundh-Baner
Aundh, 10th October 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal constructions, municipal authorities in Pune have dismantled around 60 unauthorized sheds, hotels, shops, and raw pucca structures in the Aundh-Baner area. The operation, carried out on September 19, 2025, covered the stretch from Parihar Chowk to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk.
The joint action was led by the Encroachment Eradication and Construction Department, supported by the Maharashtra Security Force, local police, and unskilled workers. Key officials involved included Junior Engineer Kamini Gholap and encroachment inspectors Rahul Bokan, Vaibhav Jagtap, Rahul Doke, Hasham Patel, and Pankaj Awad.
Assistance also came from the Kothrud-Bavdhan and Gholeroad-Shivajinagar Encroachment Departments.
During the operation, approximately 9,500 square feet of encroached land was cleared, and three trucks of materials were seized. Confiscated items included tents, iron nets, refrigerators, counters, and stalls.
The action was conducted under the supervision of Sandeep Khalate, Deputy Commissioner of the Encroachment Eradication Department, and Girish Dapkekar, Assistant Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation.
Speaking on the operation, Encroachment Inspector Rahul Bokan said, “Regular and strict action will continue against unauthorized encroachments. We are committed to keeping public spaces and roads free from illegal structures.”
