Foreign Liquor Worth Over Rs 11 Lakh Seized in Excise Department Raid in Undri

Undri, 10th October 2025: The Flying Squad No. 1 of the State Excise Department, Pune Division, seized foreign liquor and vehicles worth ₹11,86,019 during a raid conducted at an upscale housing society in Undri, Pune. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to officials, the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence received by Inspector Devdatt Pote of the Excise Flying Squad No. 1. Acting on the tip-off, the team raided Flat No. 901 in Phase 1 of Amit Kolori Co-operative Housing Society in Undri, an elite residential area.

During the raid, officers recovered 247 sealed bottles of premium foreign liquor that were meant exclusively for sale in the state of Goa. The team also seized a Tata Safari Storme SUV and a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle, both allegedly used for transporting and distributing the illicit liquor. The total value of the seized items amounts to ₹11.86 lakh.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Devdatt Pote, along with Sub-Inspectors Dinesh Suryawanshi and Prakash S. Kokre. They were assisted by Inspector Nandkumar Devne and Sub-Inspectors S.K. Hake, P.T. Padwal, and P.V. Karande from the “K” Division, as well as Inspector Ashok Shitole and Sub-Inspector H.S. Bobate from Flying Squad No. 2, and Inspector Pandurang Patil and Sub-Inspector Sachin Kadam from the “J” Division.

Inspector Nandkumar Devne is conducting further investigation into the case.

State Excise Superintendent Atul Kanade has appealed to citizens to report any information regarding illegal liquor production, sale, or possession of prohibited foreign liquor from other states to the State Excise Office, Pune.
