Bhusaval, 12th October 2025: Members of the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organization (IRTCSO) have initiated a complete boycott of food at the Bhusaval TTE Rest House Mess, citing unhygienic conditions and poor-quality meals. The protest began after repeated complaints regarding undercooked food and unsanitary kitchen conditions allegedly went unaddressed.

According to IRTCSO, around 350 ticket checking staff members refused meal coupons and skipped food in protest. The organization stated that the deteriorating quality of food and unhygienic mess environment pose a serious risk to the health and morale of on-duty TTEs.

The boycott will continue until three key demands are fulfilled: immediate improvement in food quality and ingredients, strict hygiene measures in the kitchen and premises, and inclusion of TTE representatives in mess management.

IRTCSO Secretary N. L. Gupta said the protest also highlights broader issues of discrimination in rest house facilities. “After protests, the tender was changed. The quality of bedsheets was very poor. The guard driver was given a new rest room, while TTEs were allotted the old and dilapidated one,” Gupta said.

The organization has urged railway authorities to address the grievances at the earliest to restore normalcy and ensure better working conditions for ticket checking staff.
