Maharashtra: Implementation of ‘Chief Minister My School Beautiful School’ Competitive Campaign Begins
Mumbai, 13th October 2025: The ‘Chief Minister My School Beautiful School’ competitive campaign, which has received overwhelming response over the past two years, is set to enter its third phase for 2025–26. For the upcoming year, a budgetary provision of ₹86.73 crore has been made, and the government has initiated steps to implement the program with revised criteria and new initiatives, according to the School Education Department.
The 2025–26 campaign will be conducted under improved guidelines. The Commissioner of Education has been directed to coordinate with all directors and submit a detailed proposal for conducting the campaign.
The proposal for the third phase was submitted to the government on 29 August 2025 and is currently under review. Once approved, the campaign will be implemented statewide with new activities designed to enhance participation and engagement.
The campaign was first conducted in 2023–24 under the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Ideal School Scheme, from 1 January to 15 February 2024. It saw participation from schools across all mediums and managements, engaging students, teachers, alumni, parents, and education enthusiasts. Nearly 95% of schools took part, with almost two crore students participating in various activities. Some of these initiatives were even recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records.
In 2024–25, the second phase ran from 29 July to 15 September 2024, incorporating several new programs. Prizes worth ₹73.82 crore were distributed as per government resolutions dated 18 November 2024 and 9 January 2025. The initiative once again received an excellent response, mirroring the success of the previous year.
For 2025–26, preparations are underway to launch the third phase across the state, with new activities and initiatives aimed at further enhancing school participation and community involvement, the School Education Department confirmed.
