Pune, 14th October 2025: Two men from Pisoli were arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting traffic police constable Vinay Dimble (34) late Sunday night, while a search continues for their two accomplices, Kondhwa police said. Dimble, who is attached to the Bharati Vidyapeeth traffic division, was admitted to Sassoon General Hospital following the attack.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone V) Rajkumar Shinde said Dimble was returning home on his motorcycle in uniform after completing his duty. “On Undri-Pisoli road, he stopped near an open plot to relieve himself,” Shinde explained.

According to the police, an electric car pulled up and the driver objected to Dimble using the plot. “A verbal altercation ensued, and the driver began abusing him. Dimble confronted the man, who then made a phone call. Within minutes, another man on a scooter arrived, and both started verbally abusing Dimble. Shortly after, a car arrived and two more occupants joined in, physically assaulting him with kicks and punches,” Shinde said.

The officer added that one suspect even picked up a paver block and lunged at Dimble, who managed to fend him off. “Dimble was bleeding from the mouth and ears at this point. He called a constable at the Kondhwa police station. Hearing the call, the suspects fled toward Pisoli,” Shinde said, noting that Dimble had memorized the electric car’s registration number.

Using the registration details, the police traced the driver and, after speaking with local residents in Pisoli, identified the remaining three suspects. The drivers of the electric car and the scooter were taken into custody Monday evening, while the search for the other two continues.
