Shivajinagar, 15th October 2025: A 61-year-old man died by suicide after jumping from the new building of the Shivajinagar Court on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Namdev Yashwant Jadhav, a resident of Wadki, Hadapsar.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Krushikesh Rawale said, “As soon as information was received that a man had jumped from the new court building, a police team rushed to the spot. He was immediately taken to Sassoon General Hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.”

Police recovered a note and Aadhaar card from Jadhav’s possession. According to police, the note stated that his father had sold a family property without his consent, prompting him to file a civil case in 1997. He had obtained a stay order against his brother’s construction on the property, but it was later revoked.

“Preliminary inquiry suggests that he was deeply distressed over not getting justice for several years,” DCP Rawale added. “The note bears his signature and date, and a detailed investigation is underway to confirm all circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The Shivajinagar Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation.
