Pune, 21st October 2025: Last night, multiple fire incidents were reported in Pune, including Baner Hill, Fursungi Road, Kharadi, and near the Hadapsar railway line, during Diwali celebrations on Monday night. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
On Fursungi Road, a rocket reportedly fell on the gallery of a 10th-floor apartment, setting the curtain on fire and igniting a blaze inside the flat.
Meanwhile, in Kharadi’s Gera Society, a firecracker caused a large pile of garbage to catch fire. Additionally, grass near the Hadapsar railway line caught fire, further adding to the night’s emergencies.
The Pune Fire Brigade responded promptly to all incidents. Over the course of the night, crews were able to bring all fires under control.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution while bursting firecrackers and to maintain safe distances from flammable material.
“These incidents serve as a reminder to follow fire safety guidelines during the festive season,” a fire department official said.
