Bengaluru, 21st October 2025: A 38-year-old Ola Electrics employee, K. Arvind, died by suicide on September 28, allegedly citing mental harassment by senior officials, including company owner Bhavesh Aggarwal.

Arvind, a homologation engineer at Ola since 2022 and a resident of Chikkalasandra, Bengaluru, reportedly consumed poison at his home. He was rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital by a friend but succumbed to his injuries.

A 28-page suicide note discovered by Arvind’s brother reportedly names multiple senior officials, including Subrata Kumar Das and Bhavesh Aggarwal, accusing them of pressuring and mentally torturing him. The note also claimed that he had been denied his salary.

Arvind’s brother stated that ₹17,46,313 was transferred to Arvind’s account two days after his death. When he sought clarification from Ola regarding the payment, he alleged that Subrata Kumar Das evaded providing a clear response. Following this, Arvind’s brother filed an FIR on October 6 against Bhavesh Aggarwal and other company officials.

In response, Ola issued a statement expressing shock over Arvind’s death. The company said, “We are deeply shocked by the sudden death of our employee Arvind. Our condolences are with the family during this difficult time. Arvind had been with the company for the past three and a half years. He was based at the Bengaluru headquarters. He did not file any complaints during his tenure and had no contact with senior company officials.”

Ola also confirmed that it plans to challenge the FIR in the Karnataka High Court.

Authorities are investigating the case and reviewing the allegations made in the suicide note.
